Sculpture garden in Cambridge, Massachusetts

A sculpture garden is a place of contemplation. It should open us to nature, to the landscape, to art and to ourselves. The ground of this garden is formed as waves of soil. Easy to traverse in one direction, an adventure in another. Weather transforms into waves of snow, into alternate lines of snow and dry high ground, into high ground and ponds. Within this quiet but dynamic landscape, the art works appear on simple cubic plinths. A few large trees transform with the seasons, turning the garden into a shady forest or a place of bare trunks. sculpture_plan
