The Ellinikon development is Officially Inaugurated
The official inauguration for the development of Hellinikon, the largest redevelopment project in Europe, took place today. In an event with high symbolism, held on the site of the former Athens International Airport, the family of Dr. Spyrou I. Latsis and the CEO of Lamda Development Odysseas Athanasiou, welcomed the Prime Minister, representatives of the political and religious leadership, the Local Government and the business world.
During the event, a canonization was performed by the Metropolitan of Glyfada, Voula, Vari Vouliagmeni, Elliniko, Fr. Antonios, while through a documentary the past, present and future of Hellinikon was presented.
The event was welcomed by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, noting: "Today, the prologue to the new era of the coastal front and Attica as a whole is essentially written, as the main part of the hellinikon redevelopment formally begins. One of the largest - if not the largest - urban intervention in Europe, certainly a project without precedent for our country".
Dr. Spyros I. Latsis stated regarding the investment: "The Hellinikon project is a project that unites a large part of the citizens, three Greek Governments and even the Local Authorities."
The CEO of Lamda Development, Mr. Odysseas Athanasiou, in his speech, stated characteristically: "There were and will be many difficulties in an ever-changing international environment, but this project fills us with passion because we believe that it is a great opportunity for our country to be heard in the appropriate way around the world. We are fully aware of our responsibility and committed to overcoming all difficulties to create the best and most beautiful urban regeneration in Europe. Because this is the Greek one! A work of all of us!"
